Watches with the blue dial/blue strap combo are still one of the hottest style trends in the watch world. Here we take a look at 25 of them, all released within the past few years. 1. Ressence Type 1² “Squared”
The Type 1² “Squared”, which Ressence unveiled at SIHH 2017, is a little bit different than other Ressencebreitling avenger seawolf blacksteel code yellowes. For example, there’s its case material: The 41-mm case is made of stainless steel, while other models from the brand usually come in a platinum case. The shape of the watch is also different from other models — cushion-shaped instead of round. Frédérique Constant introduced its manufacture moon-phase movement with the release of the Frédérique Constant Slimline Moonphase Manufacture. The watch, with a starting price of only $3,550, offers a single-crown adjustment system for setting the time, date and moon-phase. Among the five styles available is the model pictured above, with a navy blue dial and matching alligator strap in a stainless steel case.
5. Rolex Day-Date
Rolex launched a colorful lineup of Day-Date watches in five different color variations at Baselworld 2013. Among them was a model featuring a blue dial with sunray finish and a matching blue alligator strap. This blue-dial version of the Day-Date comes in an 18k white gold case, 36 mm in diameter.
6. Patek Philippe Ref. 5200 Gondolo 8 Days Day & Date Indication
The rectangular Patek Philippe Ref. 5200 Gondolo 8 Days, Day & Date Indication, as its name suggests, has a power reserve of eight days. The blue dial is accented by a spot of red on the last segment of the power reserve indicator.
7. A. Lange & Söhne Tourbillon “Pour le Mérite”
This A. Lange & Söhne Tourbillon “Pour le Mérite” features a very rare combination of a white gold case and a blue dial. The German-made watch was part of a limited edition of 200, only 19 of which came in white gold. At auctions, the Tourbillon “Pour le Mérite” ranks among the most sought-after A. Lange & Söhne models, usually fetching three to five times its original price.
8. Glashütte Original Sixties Panorama Date
The other Germanbreitling chronomat 44 two tone on our list, Glashütte Original‘s Sixties Panorama Date, comes in a 42-mm stainless steel case, with a midnight blue dial with a sunburst finish and a dark blue Louisiana alligator leather strap. The numerals of the date display appear on a background the same color as the blue dial.
9. Breitling Superocean 42
Breitling released a blue watch inspired by the summer, the Breitling Superocean 42, a divers’ watch water-resistant to a depth of 5,000 feet. The watch, a limited edition of 2,000 pieces, features a bezel covered in blue rubber in addition to its blue dial and blue rubber strap.
10. Louis Moinet Nelson Piquet
Louis Moinet celebrates the three-time Formula One world champion Nelson Piquet with this addition to its Legend collection, the Louis Moinet Nelson Piquet, a limited-edition two-pusher automatic chronograph. The dial features white numerals and counters against a navy blue backdrop, accompanied by a blue rubber strap. The white and blue colors are inspired by the colors of the F1 cars driven by Piquet throughout his career.
11. Omega DeVille Chronograph Co-Axial Calibre 9301
The Omega DeVille Chronograph Co-Axial Calibre 9301, a COSC-certified chronometer, features a two-zone blue dial with two domed subdials: the one at 3 o’clock displays both the 60-minute and 12-hour counters for the chronograph, while the one at 9 o’clock is for the running seconds. The model shown here comes in an 18k rose gold case, with rose gold hands and indices standing out against the blue dial.
12. Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Perpetual Calendar Chronograph
The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Perpetual Calendar Chronograph, a limited edition of 10 pieces, has a platinum case and a “grande tapisserie” pattern on the dial.
13. Piaget Altiplano Self-Winding
The Piaget Altiplano Self-Winding 43 mm is one of two special editionbreitling skyracer coltes launched in 2017 for the 60th anniversary of the famous Altiplano. The Swiss brand calls the color of the dial “historical Piaget blue, a deep shade somewhere between cobalt and midnight blue.” The light-blue crosshair is inspired by vintage Piaget watches. 14. Harry Winston’s Project Z6 Blue Edition
Harry Winston‘s Project Z6 Blue Edition has a satin-brushed blue dial with overlapping displays for current time and alarm time. The case is made of a DLC-treated alloy called Zalium. Thebreitling bentley motors special edition a25363 comes on a blue rubber strap.
15. Blancpain Bathyscaphe Ocean Commitment
The Blancpain Bathyscaphe Ocean Commitment is a special, limited edition of the brand’s flyback chronograph divers’ watch; Blancpain donates a portion of the sale of each timepiece to oceanic environmental charities.
16. Hublot’s Big Bang Jeans Ceramic
Hublot‘s Big Bang Jeans Ceramic has a 41-mm black ceramic case and a dial made of blue-jeans denim. The strap is composed of bonded denim and black rubber.
17. Jeanrichard Aquascope
Jeanrichard‘s Aquascope has a satin-finished stainless steel case with blue PVD coating and a blue rubber strap.
18. TAG Heuer 1887 Carrera Chronograph
TAG Heuer‘s 1887 Carrera Chronograph uses the manufacture 1887 automatic movement and comes on a navy alligator strap to match the dial.
19. Victorinox Maverick
The Victorinox Maverick has a blue lacquered bezel and case and comes on a rubber strap.
20. Zenith El Primero Stratos Flyback
The Zenith El Primero Stratos Flyback is equipped with an automatic column-wheel chronograph movement.
21. Cuervo y Sobrinos Historiador Flameante Blue Edition
Released at JCK 2014, the Cuervo y Sobrinos Historiador Flameante Blue Edition is a limited edition commemorating 10 years of Cuervo y Sobrinos watches in the U.S.A. “Flameante” refers to the decorative “flames” pattern on the watch’s Indigo Blue dial.
22. Meistersinger Salthora
Meistersinger, a German brand renowned for its single-handbreitling navitimer rattrapantees, presented the Salthora model at Baselworld 2014. The center-mounted hand displays the minutes, while a jumping hour numeral, in a window at 12 o’clock, indicates the hour. Among the several dial-color options is the “sapphire blue” model pictured.
23. Ulysse Nardin Marine Regatta Chronograph
The Ulysse Nardin Marine Regatta Chronograph debuted at SIHH 2017. The highlight of this watch, which is also available with a beige-colored dial, is the bi-directional chronograph counter, which begins timing a regatta once the countdown is complete. You’ll find more details in this article.
24. F.P. Journe Chronomètre Bleu
The F.P. Journe Chronometre Bleu is the first F.P. Journe watch to use a case made of tantalum, a rare, dark gray, highly corrosion-resistant metal with blue overtones that is rarely used in watchmaking due to its high density and high fusion temperature. The mirror-polished dial, in blue chrome, harmonizes with the bluish shades of the 39-mm tantalum case, and features cream-colored Arabic numerals, F.P. Journe’s signature shaped hour and minute hands, and a guilloché small-seconds subdial. Like all F.P. Journe watches, it contains a movement made of solid gold, which is visible through a clear caseback.
25. Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda 1950 Météorite Special Edition
The abyss blue dial of Parmigiani Fleurier‘s Tonda 1950 Météorite Special Edition is fashioned from a meteorite fragment. It’s cut by using a special process, developed from the Parmigiani watchmakers. The model was launched at SIHH 2017 is available in either a titanium or rose gold case.
